We invite filmmakers from around the world to submit their short films and be part of this year’s festival in Stockholm.

Swedish Cinema House Short Film Festival – Year 2
Starting from September 5, 2025, we are accepting short film submissions for the second edition of our festival, in two official competition categories:
International Film Competition
This category is open to films from all countries except those where Sweden is the primary country of production. Submissions should have a maximum runtime of 20 minutes and must be from the years 2021 to 2026.
National Competition
This category is open to films produced in Sweden, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes and a production year between 2021 and 2026.
1. The following rules apply for submitting your film:
- Short film: Maximum 20 minutes.
- Feature film: Minimum 60 minutes. Maximum 120 minutes.
- Language: Films that are not in English must have English subtitles.
- Film format: The film must be submitted in one of the following formats: MP4 or MOV, with a resolution of at least 1080p.
- Originality: All films must be original works and must not infringe on copyright or contain material owned by third parties without permission.
- Links to Vimeo, YouTube, or similar platforms are required.
2. Use of Film Clips and Material for Marketing
By submitting your film, you agree that Swedish Cinema House may use the following materials for marketing purposes for the festival:
- Short clips from the film (max 30 seconds) in trailers and advertisements.
- Movie posters and still images from the film for the website, social media, and printed materials.
- The film's title and the director's name in the festival program and marketing materials.
3. Copyright and Rights
- The filmmaker retains all rights to the film.
- By submitting the film, the filmmaker grants Swedish Cinema House the right to screen the film during the festival and use it for marketing purposes in accordance with the above rules.
- The filmmaker is responsible for ensuring that all necessary rights for music, images, and other content in the film are cleared.
4. Selection and Decision
- All submitted films will be reviewed by a jury consisting of professionals from the film industry.
- The jury's decision on which films are selected for the festival is final and cannot be appealed.
- The winners in each category will be announced at the end of the festival.
5. Dates & Deadlines for Short film
Opening Date: September 05, 2025
Entry Deadlines:
Earlybird Deadline: November 15,2025
Regular Deadline: January 15, 2026
Late Deadline: February 28, 2026
Notification Date: March 20, 2026
Event Date(s): April 18, 2026
The fee must be paid when submitting the film. Please note that the fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the film is selected or not.
